Description

Join SCA and MUFG Union Bank on SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 4TH to restore Maple Wood Playfield in Seattle!

Since the establishment of Global Volunteer Month in 2013, MUFG employees all over the world have been working together on initiatives to host local contribution activities. SCA is proud to be a partner in this endeavor by facilitating opportunities for MUFG employees, family, and friends to engage in team-based service projects in 8 different cities. The projects will focus on some of the most urgent conservation needs in underserved urban communities.

Volunteers will gather at Jefferson Community Center on Beacon Hill to kickoff Green Seattle Day, a massive planting project in parks throughout the Emerald City. MUFG Union Bank employees will then join the youth of SCA’s Conservation Leadership Corps to plant trees and shrubs at Maple Wood Playfield, helping to preserve this neighborhood park for future generations to enjoy.

WHEN: Saturday, November 4th, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.

WHERE: Jefferson Community Center, 3801 Beacon Ave S, Seattle, WA 98108

We will meet at the community center to kick off the festivities, then shuttle over to Maple Wood Playfield for the planting event. Parking is available in the community center parking lot and along Beacon Ave S. (Volunteers will return to the community center for lunch following the planting.)
